Our Technology Touching Life theme is at the forefront of a transformative field at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and biomedical applications. This exciting journey of discovery takes place in state-of-the-art facilities, utilizes extensive medical datasets, and thrives on collaborations with leading experts in computer science, engineering and life sciences.  

The Computing Technologies for Healthcare at the School of Computing Science brings together research groups and communities with expertise in a range of topics that include   Computational Biology,  Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical and Imaging Applications,  Cancer Image Analysis and Affective Computing. 

The University of Glasgow currently has the largest EPSRC Healthcare Technologies grant portfolio in the UK and it provides one of the best research environments to undertake research on sensing, imaging and Artificial Intelligence for biomedical applications. The Communication, Sensing and Imaging Group pioneers innovative wireless technologies that enable activity recognition and vital signs monitoring. The Imaging Centre of Excellence offers state-of-the-art 7T MRI scans, which provide exceptionally high-resolution images of the human body, making them truly special in the field of medical imaging. The centre brings together academics, clinicians and industry experts.
