The University of Glasgow is home to the Centre of Quantum Technologies and one of the four Quantum technology Hubs, QuantIC, the Quantum Imaging Centre.

We have the second largest portfolio of UK grant funding in the field of quantum science, bringing together nearly 100 researchers across a range disciplines, physics, engineering, computing science and chemistry. We have also recently launched the Scottish Funding Council Alliance Research Challenge in Quantum Technologies that expands the collaborations to social scientists and artists. This SFC ARC complements another UofG lead ARC for Brain health, providing a uniquely cross-disciplinary environment, driven by early career researchers.

UofG also hosts the SPIE Global early career researchers programme that provides funding for early career research exchanges with international research institutes.

UofG areas of excellence in quantum science include quantum theory, quantum imaging and sensing, superconducting technology for quantum computing and sensing, and applications of quantum technology to healthcare, bio-imaging and microscopy. Some of this research is carried out and housed in the Advanced Research Centre, level 3, but is also more broadly distributed across campus and across multiple schools.

For further enquiries, feel free to contact us with an indication of potential areas of interest and we can help link you up with other early career researchers or research group leaders.
